Edinboro Elementary Recognition

Edinboro Elementary was recognized by the Division of Federal Programs as a Reward: High Achievement status for the 2016-17 school year.

McKean Hurricane Relief

McKean Elementary students raised money to help the victims of the recent hurricanes. Third grade students are spearheaded this effort and raised money for the Red Cross.

Edinboro Elementary Grant

Edinboro Elementary School received a $6000 grant from the Office of Child Development and Early Learning. This will be used for training to ease the transition for students from pre-school to Kindergarten.

Dollars for Disasters

General McLane High School’s National Honor Society hosted a district-wide fundraiser to help those affected by the hurricanes this past month. Students raised almost $4,000 and that may be matched.

Lancer Grams

Students with special needs hosted the annual Lancer Grams this week at JWPMS!

ARRFS

Edinboro University’s Women Lacrosse Team visited McKean Elementary School to discuss bullying as part of McKean’s ARRFS program. ARRFS also has been having weekly video announcements!

Erie Philharmonic

Renowned Broadway performer Lisa Vroman met with General McLane High School Vocal Jazz students. She offered students advice on achieving music success beyond high school and also worked one-on-one with three leads for our upcoming musical, The Little Mermaid.

Manufacturing Day

Manufacturing Day was held on October 11. More than 2000 students attended, which exceeded last year’s total. GM had 120 students attend.

Assembly

The High School students hosted an assembly for middle school students on October 3. The purpose was to demonstrate positive behaviors and good sportsmanship during athletic events.

Homecoming

Homecoming took place this past weekend. Seniors Aaron Wagner and Jocie Connolly became homecoming king and queen on Friday night. There were a variety of festivities and a good time was had by all!

Edinboro Teacher receives Grant

Edinboro Elementary teacher Katie Waddell received the Clearly Brighter Teacher Grant from the Northwestern REC. She will use the $450 toward a hands-on science unit about the moon. The students will participate in several learning stations and finish the unit by designing a Moon Buggy. This unit will take place in January.
