Athletic Volunteers
Thank you for your willingness to serve our community by serving as a volunteer in the school district.
In accordance with state law, it has been determined that you are volunteering for a position which requires you
to get clearances before performing the duties of volunteer. You will be required to obtain 2 or 3 clearances
based on the following:
All prospective volunteers must obtain the following clearances:
- Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); and
- Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse).
Additionally, a fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI, Service Code 1KG6XN) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required if:
- The position the volunteer is applying for is a paid position; and
- The volunteer has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.
It is likely that you only need the first two clearances. You can get them online. Each clearance is currently free and is relatively quick.
