GMSD 2021-2022 COVID-19 Resources

This page will serve as a place where parents, families and students can find resources verified and endorsed by General McLane School District regarding COVID-19 for the 2021-2022 School Year.

Update: January 7, 2022

The board-approved GMSD health and safety plan notes that we will follow Erie County Department of Health guidelines for contact tracing and quarantine while also masking in all of our buildings when the county in is Substantial and High levels of transmission.

You can access the updated ECDH guidelines here. The updated ECDH guidelines reflect the CDC changes for quarantine. The only exception to these changes are student-athletes, who can return to school via the updated guidelines but will still need to quarantine from athletics for the full 10 days because they are unable to meet the masking requirements.

If you’ve not already done so and would like to expedite the contact tracing process and/or quarantine, feel free to send your student’s vaccination card or status to your school building nurse.

Please notify the GMSD Pandemic Team immediately if you or someone in your household is:

  • Scheduled to be tested for COVID-19 and are experiencing symptoms
  • Completed COVID-19 testing and are awaiting results
  • You have a POSITIVE RESULT from a COVID-19 test (+ case)
  • You have been identified as a probable case by the DOH or Physician

The GMSD Pandemic Team will only notify the staff and families identified as close-contacts or individuals exposed who require quarantine. Students will be sent home with a letter at the end of the day for instructions.

Any student not in the school building, parent, or guardian will receive a call home from the Pandemic Team to notify them as a close contact.
