Volunteers
Thank you for your willingness to serve our community by serving as a volunteer in the school district.
In accordance with state law, it has been determined that you are volunteering for a position which requires you
to get clearances before performing the duties of volunteer.
Effective March 1, 2023, any GMSD volunteer will be required to obtain 3 clearances and one additional item as follows:
- Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); and
- Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse); and
- Act 114: FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Service Code: 1KG6XN) *please see note below on specific instructions to do this at the IU5
- TB test results
You can get the first two clearances online, but you will have to schedule an appointment to obtain your FBI fingerprints. The results will be obtained online. Both the PSP and Child Abuse clearance are currently free, and the process is relatively quick. The fee to obtain your FBI fingerprints is currently $23.25 for volunteers. Here are specific directions on how to get this done at the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit #5.
For TB test results, most urgent care centers and family physicians will complete a TB test. Here is a list of local facilities who offer this test. There may be a fee associated with obtaining these results. If you have questions about how or where to get a TB test, please email Sarah Grabski at sarahgrabski@generalmclane.org.
