Wellness Policy

The General McLane School District, a public school located in Erie County PA, recognizes the importance of physical well being to promote quality learning and excellence in education. The district employs ten physical education/health teachers and provides physical education at every grade level as well as instruction in health, including nutrition, at several grade levels. It is important that what is taught to students in the classroom is echoed in practice. To that end, the district wishes to comply with the Pennsylvania Nutrition Standards for Competitive Foods. Food served in our cafeterias comply with these regulations and we ask for the help of parents and staff to meet the standards with fund raisers, classroom parties and other school events where food is involved.
