Global Academy
Overview
General McLane High School’s Global Academy offers students and faculty the opportunity to experience other cultures on our District’s campus. We do this coordinating exchange programs and bringing in students from abroad to experience our rigorous academic curriculum.
The GMHS Global Academy is continually expanding to meet the needs and broaden the horizons of the General McLane community.
Applying
General McLane School District is authorized by the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to obtain I-20’s for FI Student Visas. Students who are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., who wish to pursue studies at GMHS will require an F-1 Student Visa. We also accept J1 Student Visas through another agency.
For more information about the application process, contact GMSD Registrar Kristina Sonney.

Host Families
We believe the best way to experience another culture is by making a young person from another country a part of your family and home. Hosting an exchange student is the perfect way to share your culture and traditions while experiencing and welcoming those from another country.
If you’d like to make a difference by welcoming a young person from another country to your own home, please contact Matthew Lane.
