General McLane School District

The GM Transportation Department has launched its new email-based transportation notification system.

Your student’s bus schedule for the 2023-24 school year will be emailed to you on or about August 24, 2023. The sender of the email will be “Transfinder” in your inbox. (this is the name of our routing software company).

An introductory email has been sent to all families with an email address registered with the District. Moving forward, the Transportation Department will be using this system to notify parents of delays affecting their child’s bus, changes to the bus route and the beginning-of-the-year bus scheduling information.

If you have not registered an email address for your student, please contact your student’s building.

2023 – 2024 Activity Bus Stops

Bus Route Requests 23-24

IMPORTANT NOTE: The deadline for submission of Bus Routing Requests is Friday, August 1, 2023. The bus routes will be finalized at that time so that drivers can review and practice their routes. As of August 1 at 3 p.m., Bus Route Requests will not be accepted until October 1, 2023. This is necessary to provide stability to the schedule in fairness to all students.

Bus Route Requests indicating “No Transportation Required” will be accepted at any time. We will reopen bus route requests on October 1st, 2023 on a case-by-case basis.

Address Changes

Address changes must be made through the district registrar’s offices. Buses cannot be routed to a new home address that has not yet been changed with the Registrar’s office.

Please contact your student’s building with any address changes you need. Please note that it takes 24 hours for our routing software to be updated with your new address.

How to submit a Transportation Change

Please note that Bus Route Requests can take up to one week to process, so please plan ahead.

To submit a Transportation Change, you must do one of the following:

  • Complete the Bus Routing Request Form (below) if you are a family who has moved within the District OR if you wish to be picked up or dropped off at a location other than your home address.
  • Special Request for Variation Form: If both parents live in the district, but live at different locations, children may have one variation from home pick-up or drop-off. Families who fall under this category should fill out the Special Request for Variation Form.
